出国留学的申请书 申请出国留学申请信篇一
at the request of university of denver, my student in zhengzhou 19th high school, i’m providing this reference, which i hope can be useful for you to review her application to your undergraduate program.
i have been the chinese teacher and class director in zhengzhou 19th high school for more than ten years. we are one of the most famous and high-quality high schools in the whole city, the faculties in our school are all renowned and highly-experienced. though i’m relatively young in the school, i have lots of experience in chinese teaching and student managing. i have been titled the outstanding young teacher and class-director by school and city.
yadi wang came to my class in september 2006, the semester she entered our school. i know she is talent in music. she used to performance flute in our school activities, such as in talent show. in 2007, she passed the high level test of flute level 8. she loves music that is all her classmates and school teachers know.
yadi wang had special leadership and friendship in my class. once we were about to take part in our school’s drama festival. we were supposed to play a chinese traditional drama –baimaonu. i analyzed some key plots and roles of this drama to my students, and then left all the other works to their own. yadi wang was in charge of the directing and casting. it was not an easy job as it may sound. the enthusiasm made everybody ask for the leading roles, but no one was willing to take these minor ones. so yadi wang decided to run an audition. combined the performance in the audition and students’ actual characteristics, yadi wang assigned everyone the most suitable role. and then, she spanided the crew into several groups. different groups rehearsed in different places at the same time. and the leading actors were the strings to connect these groups into a collectivity. through this way, it saved lots of time, which was the scarcest thing to middle school students, to get everybody into his role. and before the final performance, she just needed to call all the actors together for a preview for once or twice. she has done even better than i had expected.
another time was in a seminar, we ran a debate competition about teacher’s professional ethics. yadi wang was the leading debater of the con side. during the debate, she showed her wide knowledge and eloquence. she used lots of proverbs, history figures and examples to support her stand, and every word of her was incisive to get to the point, and also full of humors. her performance won both her teammates and opponents’ admiration.
her positivity and versatility also can be found in many other aspects. she is ours school’s famous piano player who is always invited to play in many occasions. she knows the traditional skill of calligraphy writing, which she has been practicing from very small. during weekends or vacations, the “holiday working team” she leads can always be found doing many community services. normally, in order to get more students to participate in class’s management, the student cadre will change every semester or two, by student vote. but yadi wang has won all the elections by now, so she continued to be the monitor from the beginning of our class to today, and very likely to the graduation. all her classmates have approbated her ability, characteristics and performance. she is already a model in the class.
in this reference, i didn’t mention much about yadi wang’s grade, which i believe you can easily find was so outstanding from her transcripts and her ranking (25th out of 1560 students), because i’d like to give you something that you cannot find from these documents but i think is equally important to contribute to her excellence. i do hope, according to my recommendation, you could give her a favorable review. thank you! please feel free to contact me.
sincerely yours

born in beijing, china’s political capital, cultural center and economic hub, and nurtured in a well-cultured family and an empowering community, i have developed a meaningful outlook on lie. i identify myself with such values that one gives meaning to life when one lives to give. success stories of my parents , relatives and friends along their career-path have entrenched my belief in being independent and confident as a contributing memeber of the community.
as i look back on early days of my schooling , i am just as grateful to my working parents for having sent me to one of the best boarding schools in beijing where i received quality primary education and learned to appreciate independence. as i recall , being independent was probably the biggest asset i gained as a teenager with the absence of parental guardianship for most of those 6 years. after i upgraded to secondary school, i offered to go to school by bike. though hesitant at first, my parents gave their well-thought-out consent to the 15-km ride average chinese parents would simply veto in the first place given the “one-child policy”and subsequent “little emperors” pampered by parents and grandparents. thankfully, that day-to-day routine bike trip, rain or sunshine, tempered my strong character. i have been holding myself to highest standards, academically and physically from primary school days through to college life. i have grown up all these years amongst top cohorts and have been exposed to varied horizons and dimensions of school life in and outside of classroom. i am perfectly healthy and stong with a sharp mind and demonstrated commitment to teamwork. i was handpicked to play for school baseball team when i was in primary school. back then, my proven leadership and excellent skills in the field assured my coach that i was born to be a team leader. and i did justice to his well-timed appointment by heading a team of beijing to compete in shanghai and hong kong several times. and the strong track record of out outstanding performances each time still fills me with pride and excitement today. during one match tour to hong kong in the 1990s, i was immediatel exposed to the enviable luxury and prosperity of the city, the dynamic economic center of asia. that trip awakened me ,for the first time, to the value of wealth and finance. and it was that very journey to the thriving metropolis that shaped my ambition to be a financer.
years later, when the colleg entrance exam came, that moment of life and death for most of senior high school students in china,my top preference was finance colllege of beijing technology and business unversity. the result came as a sad surprise as i was admitted to computer science college instead. but i stuck with my dream major and decided to minor in finance. i have since worked hard to equip myself with systematic knowledge of finance. as a result , i amd now well on my way to graduation with double degrees in both computer science and finance in 2012.
during my college days,i led my cohorts in starting up a micro company as i dabbled into the real business world. we settled for newspaper as our maiden attempt.. as a new horn,i took a hands-on approach, from editing to circulating, from cost control to market survey. my strong leadership and sunergy of the entire team kept this mini organization going pretty well in its infancy. yet inexperience in operation and cost management led to a failed business in the end. but i saw the silver lining in the failed venture. i now know more about where i need to work on. when i was a little boy, my parents taught me how to manage money in the safest way. they helped me put my pocket money in the bank and get interest as a return. now, as a grown-up already,i recognize that systematic learning and book knowledge can truely help me know how much more about what finance is all about. naturally, as one’s knowledge about swimming increases, the desire to swim in the sea grows. yet, with more academic exposure, i have come to realize how i am ill-equipped with the knowledge needed to stay afloat in the trubulent sea of finance. that self-conscious humbleness versus the profundiy of finance as a much-respected discipline has led me to opt for further study in the us,home to a number of world-class colleges of finance.
after meticulous comparision and cross-checking, i have settled for clark university, the birthplace of the first-ever graduate school in the us. i trust that demanding academic standards here and ,best of all ,great mastermind of finance that clark can offer will undoubtedly broaden my horizon and update my vision as financier of the future. to me,clark is the best and right place that can surely make the difference, academically and professionally alike. i am more than anxious to embrace those best minds in clark and contribute my humble part to its huge wealth of knowledge and innovative ideas. i am therefore very much looking forward to a positive reply from clark, my dream campus. may that offer come just in time for my journey towards a rewading learning experience in one of the greatest colleges in the us.

"all i know about leadership i learned from . . ." what items could a person use to describe leadership qualities?
inspired by the student council advisors at my high school.
student council was a big part of my life in high school. i have participated in it since my frst year of high school. when i frst joined, i was quiet, na?ve, and unwilling to participate in many activities. i was scared to meet new people and afraid to apply myself. this all began to change. half way through my frst year in student council, one of the advisors can up to me and asked why i did not participate that much. i did not have an answer for her and did not know how to respond. after this, i began to think of an answer. i became frustrated and decided to change. i started to show up at events and had a great time. i realized i loved this and wanted to start leading these activities. in my sophomore, junior, and now my senior year of high school, i asserted myself and took on a strong leadership role in student council. i did not fgure out the answer to why i was so reserved until this year with the help of this question.
when i looked up leadership in the dictionary, it said that it was the capacity to lead and the act or instance of leading. these are two very broad defnitions of leadership. many people have different notions of what this word actually means. when i was challenged to use different items to describe what leadership actually is, i thought this was going to be a hard and obnoxious task. what could i learn from comparing leadership to a stuffed animal or a rubber chicken? but when i sat down to come up with a couple of answers, i realized that leadership could be compared to almost anything a person wants.
all i know about leadership i learned from a calculator. a calculator can add everything together to come up with the best answer. it can delet e what is unnecessary and only include what is important. it can solve any type of problem. these are all important equalities a leader has to have. a leader has to be able to add all of the ideas together to make the best possible plan. leaders have to know how to decipher the good and the bad out of an idea. they have to be versatile and know how to deal with different types of issues.
all i know about leadership i learned from a ball. a ball is able to bounce back up after it is dropped. it is round and has no creases. a ball can be thrown back and forth to different people. all of these qualities are also leadership qualities. a leader has to be ready for every situation that is thrown at him or her. he or she has to be able to bounce back from any setbacks and never dwell on the past. leaders have to exhibit many qualities and never be closed-minded about a situation. a leader must be able to delegate when he or she cannot get the work done. they have to trust everyone they lead to be able to "catch the ball" and keep a project rolling.
this activity made me realize that being a leader is so much more than just having authority and having the ability to take control of a situation. a leader has to be trusting of all the people he or she leads and, leaders must be able to combine ideas into one encompassing idea. they cannot sit in the background and watch events happen; they have to jump in and be involved. they should not delegate all their responsibilities away.
leadership is more than what the dictionary says it is.
i learned through all of this that i have many of these qualities.
i have the ability to solve problems, lead through adversity, and be versatile. from answering this question, i realized that i could lead effectively, even if my leadership style is different from other inspaniduals. when i joined student council in my frst year of high school, i did not have these qualities because i was never put into a situation where i had to lead. i was too reserved to try. when i tried, i learned that i could succeed in this. i did not realize until i answered this question about leadership. i was never able to see that being a leader is not just about taking control of a group and telling everyone what to when i was a freshman, i thought leadership was this. i did not know that did not have to be forceful and strict. i stereotyped a leader then. thisis where i went wrong. a leader is about being yourself and never letting anyone change you. i thought i had to change to be a good leaderonly when i expanded my comfort zone did i realize this was not trueit only took three years and a silly question/game to fgure this out.
